I bought frozen tamales, now what?

Rest assured, detailed instructions are included in your purchase. We'll bet if you follow the instructions below, you will be a professional tamale cooker on the first try!


1- Wrap each individual frozen tamale in the wax papers provided.

2- Fill a steamer pot with HOT water about an inch above the holes.

3- Load your tamales into your steam pot, open side up.

4- Cook on high heat until the water starts to boil. Once the water boils, keep them on high for 15 minutes, then lower heat to medium-high for an additional 1 hour and 20 minutes.

5- Serve and enjoy!


PLEASE NOTE- All stoves are different, exact cooking time may vary. The tamale is done when the masa is no longer runny.

PRO TIP- unwrap the tamale, and discard corn husk BEFORE enjoying your tamale ( DO NOT EAT THE HUSK).
